Miniroll UI Revamp

Miniroll, the blogroll platform I've been building has come quite a way since it's first inception. You can create and manage blogrolls, embed them on your site, create aggregated rss feeds, fetch your blogrolls via a JSON API, view a global feed of all public blogrolls, and a lot more.

But for a long time, the UI was a very simple, blocky, and overused monospace fonts for every UI element.

I decided that it was time for a revamp, so I first went over a bunch of small details, like rounded borders, accent colours with better contrast, and more readable fonts. After it was in a good state, I worked on a new interface for the platform, which is based around having a sidebar for navigation, and a better use of horizontal space where possible.

Here's a look at the updated landing page:

And what it looks like when you manage your blogroll:

In a lot of ways, it may seem minor, but I think it was a long needed refresh.

if you're interested in blogs, managing your blogrolls, and also using Miniroll to explore a bunch of blogs you may not have seen, then please check out Miniroll.

The paid subscription which gives you access to features such as different embed themes, analytics, stale blog detection, API access, and a load more, is $2 per month and $20 per year. But there's a 7-day free trial, so you can get a feel for the platform and see if it's for you before committing.
